starfoxtf
I'm searching for a soundcard which works in OSX. A5.1,6.1 or 7.1 would be the best! I would prefer an Internal one but i'll take a look on external ones as well! I would prefer an Internal one but i'll take a look on external ones as well! THX Personally, I like the USB Sound Blaster Pro. The Mic and Line in actually work on it. The multichannel I'm not sure about really, but it's not too expensive. FOr Internal, that has 5.1 working: Creative External Sound Blaster Live! SB0490 Bout the same price, but will work with 5.1. Try that one out Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14789-which-soundcard-works-very-well/#findComment-94867 Share on other sites

Harry_Callahan
Hello folks, I didn't understand Kc Wayland reply. Is the Creative External Sound Blaster Live! SB0490 working in 5.1 and does it have line in? I don't have line in with my ASUS mobo and only have 2.0. If the External SB has 5.1+line in, it's worth for me to buy it. Thanks alot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14789-which-soundcard-works-very-well/#findComment-94926 Share on other sites
poispois
The built-in AC97 on my P4C800 board works like a charm. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14789-which-soundcard-works-very-well/#findComment-95130 Share on other sites
Wayland
The built-in AC97 on my P4C800 board works like a charm. Ac97 is questionable about it's future in OSX, I hate to say... As for the Sound blaster, I was really tired and posted the same thing twice as internal and external. The digital out will give you 5.1 out and the mic works as in. I tested LINE-In and it in fact does work. I took someone's word for it without testing it myself, and now have confirmed it. Once I plugin in a headset in, the output is disabled until you unplug it from USB and plug it back in. Weird, I know, but oh well. It's detected and resets in seconds. As for the separate chanel output, I'm afraid that doesn't work, at least it didn't for me. The MIDI multichanel test shows only two speakers, so 5.1 is only available via Digital out, I repeat, ONLY through digital out is 5.1 Available. 2.1 Is available through the back port of Front L/R out. Perhaps all will work in time? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14789-which-soundcard-works-very-well/#findComment-95154 Share on other sites
