I hope someone can enlighten me on this one.

Today when playing with different flags I was trying the following:

cpus=1 -v => that disabled the second core although during boot (the DOS stuff) it showed that both cores are enabled. In system profiler it shows that only one core is enbled.

So far so good, but when I boot with cpus=1, -v (see the comma) it boots fine, again it shows both cores enabled during boot

but in system profiler is shows that both cores are enables.

So my question is, have i booted with both cores in the second scenario or have I just fooled the OS so it only displays that both cores are enabled?

On a side note, is there a way to tell the computer with which core to boot? Say either with core0 or core1. Just interesting to know.

Damn I forgot, its Intel core 2 duo on HP nx7300.
