I am currently wondering if i can run a retail leopard on this, considering the specs and the fact i have kalyway 10.5.2 (no updates) installed. So far, all 3/4 USB ports work, but I need to restart for any of them to work? Sound: Speakers, headphones, and if plugged in i am sure mic works. Airport and ethernet work. DVD/CD reader/burner both work, as i am running TOAST and works flawlessly. Trackpad/Mouse works. From my knowledge most everything is working right after install, sound and set up went smothly. Anyway if you guys think I can or will be able to retail boot this laptop please tell me? Also: If I got the retail to work, will my laptop be shown or seen as a laptop? or macPro, or a desktop. Because currently my battery is not seen at all, and this bugs me. Thanks for your help, and sorry for the long post. attached is more info satellite_A105_S2231.pdf Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147720-installing-retail-leopard-105x-on-toshiba-laptop/ Share on other sites
Reveeen
ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Chipset There is no support for this in a "retail DVD", not to mention any other unsupported devices that Toshiba shoved in there. What would make you *think* a retail DVD will install on this? Apple manufacturers computers with a closed list of hardware, ANYTHING that does not ship installed in a Apple computer will not work with a "retail DVD" install, that is why guys release "hacked" disks, so that OSx can be installed on hardware other than OEM. Clearly you are either not reading, or understanding.
