kajivarvdw
Hi everybody! A few months ago, I succesfully installed and used Mac OS X 10.5.1 Kalyway. But, and I still don't know why lol, I removed it and only used my Ubuntu install. Yesterday I wanted to reinstall Mac, but I found out the dvd didn't work anymore (it was damaged) and I couldn't find the original iso file. So I downloaded it again, but this time the iDeneb 10.5.5 version. The installation worked fine, but after rebooting and booting for the first time, I always get this message: "Failed to get ACPI device AppleYukon error: TWIST: transfer does not complete Still waiting for root device... Still waiting for root device... Still waiting for root device... ..." These are my specs: Mobo: Asus P5K Pro Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2x2GB 800MHz nVidia 7300GT 256MB Hard drives: 250GB SATA, 250GB IDE (I installed on this one) Optical drives: Asus DVD drive SATA (I used this one), NEC DVD drive IDE I've already read some post about this error, but I just didn't know what to do with it. Could anyone please help me? Thanks in advance! lalakri
Check and correct these :- 1:- Check that the HDD ,on which you installed OS Primary Master/Slave and Also Your DVD/CD ROM should be Primary Master/Slave! 2 :- Turn Off your Lan and Try 3:- Try Installing in your Sata HDD! 4:- Your Both Primary IDE slots Should be filled , ie HDD Primary master and CD ROM Primary Slave Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147700-still-waiting-for-root-device-after-installing-with-ideneb-1055/#findComment-1046296 Share on other sites
