wellenreiter86
Hello, now my hardware is working with my pseudo mac. *happy* Now I have questions about updates. Somewhere I read that i should not install the Updates from apple directly because my kernel extensions? How can I update? I asked a pirate for a special update but he didnt know what I want. How can I update my Kalyway 10.5.2 to *.5 or *.6? Problem 2: After I changed my System.ktext from 7.2.2 to 7.2.0 because of this Problem with USB automounting my PC does not want to sleep or to shut down. After the screens become black nothing else happens. Bios settings are ok because it has worked befor the change. How can I get sleep or shutdown working? Lanceomni
There are plenty of guides here and over on wiki.osx86project.org to explain updating. You can also use the search function on this forum to find other post where this has been discussed. In your last post we made a backup copy of your Extensions folder so if you do follow a guide and update and have a problem we can pull files from the backup folder. You may also want to backup your kernel. Open terminal and type: cp -r /mach_kernel /mach_kernel.backup The allows you to use the boot option mach_kernel.backup to boot from your backup kernel if it gets replaced. I didnt find a guide to *.6, but is it possible anyway or should I update to .5? The allows you to use the boot option mach_kernel.backup to boot from your backup kernel if it gets replaced. Are you sure that this sleep-shutdown error is from the 7.2.0 kernel? which advantages does the vodoo kernel have?
