jellymonster
I am trying to use the kalyway 10.5.2 disk to install MAC OS X onto my PC. I burned it using Nero 8 burning rom onto a maxell DVD+RW. The disk booted on my old PC and also another PC I own, but when I boot it in my new PC, I type -V and it goes quite fast until a it stops and freezes. The last few lines say: Mac OS Version: Not yet set Kernel Version: Darwin kernel version 9.2.0: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by TOH: xnu-1228/build/obj/Release_I386 a few lines before this it says: SAM Multimedia: Read or write failed sense_key = 0x03, ASC=0x11, ASCQ=0x15 I have also tried typing -s and -x but all still have the same outcome. My processor is intel pentium 4 and SSE2 and SSE3 compatable. I have no PCI cards plugged in only my nvidia 9800GTX graphics card in the PCI-E slot. I have 2 HDD's, 1 500GB Maxtor SATA and 1 20GB IDE, I don't mind which one I install it on, I can just copy it at a later date. The DVD drive is onn the same IDE cable as my HDD, I believe it is the slave and HDD is the master. I can't think of anymore information needed except maybe where it gets stuck, if anymore is needed just ask me. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147682-i-cant-get-the-kalyway-1052-disk-to-boot/ Share on other sites

Thanks look for chameleon jmicron patch, if you have a jmicron chip onboard kaly works on ahci, not on ide dvd drives, so setup sata as ahci and try again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147682-i-cant-get-the-kalyway-1052-disk-to-boot/#findComment-1046787 Share on other sites
jellymonster
look for chameleon jmicron patch, if you have a jmicron chip onboardkaly works on ahci, not on ide dvd drives, so setup sata as ahci and try again I downloaded 'the leopard Sup Guide' and that had a load of bios settings on it, (that was one of them), but all these didn't work. I'll try sata as ahci on it's own and have a go. Something I forgot to mention was, it said: SAM Multimedia: Read or write failed sense_key = 0x03, ASC=0x11, ASCQ=0x15 But I'm guessing it can't read because I need to set SATA as ahci (just a guess, I'm not any expert on this malarky). Thankyou very much for replying Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147682-i-cant-get-the-kalyway-1052-disk-to-boot/#findComment-1046812 Share on other sites

Do u think it has something to do with the IDE HDD? or even the IDE dvd drive? thanks for trying Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147682-i-cant-get-the-kalyway-1052-disk-to-boot/#findComment-1047673 Share on other sites
