konrad236
I just installed iATKOS 5i. The installation went off perfectly. I'm running 10.5.5 on this: Asus P5B Mainboard Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo nVidia GeForce 7950 GT Now, it reads my CPU as "3.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo" but my processor is a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo. I am a bit worried that my processor is overclocked, as it runs working at 100% at one to two degrees above thermal spec. I downloaded Temperature Monitor, but it will not work on my system because "The speech synthesizer of this operating system is defective" I was hoping A, someone could provide some insight into this, and let me know if it is anything to be worried about. B, Hoping someone could recommend another program to monitor my processor if one is available. Thanks, Konrad Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147634-e6600-on-p5b-reading-clock-speed-wrong/ Share on other sites

Thanks, Konrad look for your smbios.kext-version, should be 27 or 28 to report properly. and temperature monitor is made for apple hardware, not for hacks. konrad236
Okey, so when I rebooted the system a SpeedStep program loaded up and I have control of my clockspeed:D Also, Is there anything I would be able to do to get a temperature readout from my processor? I have the stock cooling system from my processor and it sucks so i like to keep an eye on it when I am doing new things with the computer, as one game I found can overheat my system when running XP. But thanks for the response, I'll take a look at that file still just out of curiosity.
