Penzer
With those settings, the installation finishes, but I still can't boot. Booting with -v, the last line of the log reads: AppleNforceATA: found 0 units localhost kextd[10]: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols AppleNforceATA: found 0 units localhost configd[45]: InterfaceNamer : no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID Then I tried with the forcedeath drivers (for on-board ethernet) and was given an error about not being able to find any ethernet devices. Any thoughts? Any thoughts? What happens when you have onboard LAN enabled (but no Ethernet driver installed from DVD) and connected to Internet via Ethernet cable and boot with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048........? Penzer
With "-v cpus=1 maxmem=2048" , it stops at: AppleNForceATA: found 0 units. AppleNForceATA: found 0 units. disk0s2: data underrun. disk0s2: data underrun. AppleATADiskQueueManager::setPowerState(0x3944000, 2 -> 1) timed out after 1000194 ms Does it matter if my iDeneb partition does not fill my whole harddrive? I plan to expand it to take over my ubuntu partition once everything is up and running. Are there any particular bios settings that cause problems? My bios settings are pretty much unmodified, just the boot order. Penzer
There were a couple changes, still stops booting on the same step though. Trying to re-install again. After reinstalling with the bios changes, I'm pretty much where I started: AppleNforceATA: found 0 units localhost kextd[10]: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols AppleNforceATA: found 0 units localhost configd[44]: InterfaceNamer : no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID The only difference from the beginning, is that the last ine reads "localhost configd[44]" instead of "localhost configd[45]". Penzer
Is there a more reliable/easier way to get it up and running? I'm more interested in just getting it working than having it completely optimized. Thanks for your help so far Do I need to have this nforce patch from http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/ ? Its a 404 page anyways. Penzer
Where are you seeing it that it works? When I click the nforce patch from the link I posted, it takes me to http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/en/component...55-nforce-patch Then from there, when I click the download link it takes me to http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/index.php/la...orce-patch.html And that is a 404 page. I don't see a seeded version of the patch floating around on torrent sites either. Penzer
I've found a mirror at http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ce22f28...2db6fb9a8902bda . Going to patch the iso and see how it goes. Penzer
Seems to work less with the patched iso, can't even get to the installation. It ends at "Still waiting for root device", even with -v -x. Tried with -v maxmem=2048 cpus=1, and still no different.
