I'm very interested to know if I can get OSX Leopard running on my LG

netbook. Being able to dualboot windows XP on the same hard drive is a big plus for me.

The LG X110 is an MSI Wind clone, but I cannot figure out which wireless card is built into it. I know that the MSI Wind can run OSx86, but they ship with a possiblity of several different wireless cards included.

I will list the hardware as it is shown in windows xp device manager.

Windows reads the wireless lan card as "802.11/g Mini Card Wireless Adapter" in the Device Manager - What is it exactly(model/brand), and can I get it working on OSX?

Processor is Intel Atom N270 @ 1.6ghz - Windows lists the computer as a "ACPI Multiprocessor PC". The processor is single-core, but in windows task manager it is shown as 2 processors.

Built in mouse is "Synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing Device"

Keyboard is "Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 keyboard"

The video adapter is "Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family" in device manager.

My laptop battery is listed as "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method battery"

Hard Drive is listed as "WDC WD1600BEVT-22ZCTO"

Sound Card is "Realtek High Definition Audio"

That is all the hardware I need to know I can get working before I install OSX(I need my laptop for school, so I cannot be witout it)

One other concern I have, is that when I installed the OSx86 version iATKOS 5i on my Acer laptop, I was unable to use my windows recovery cd for factory reset. I just want to be sure also that I will not loose my ability to completely remove the HSF+ partition and any trace of it from my MBR before I try this again.

The problem with my Acer laptop could have been easily fixable... but I

returned it to the store for other hardware related issues and got the LG, so I am not sure it if was anything other than windows not recognizing it in order to remove it.

So...

-First, any risk of screwing up my hard drive?

-Second, Which OSx86 Release should I download? I have iATKOS 5i already, but if for any reason there is one I should use that is better I would like to know. (Leopard)

-Third, if this is going to work, which hardware drivers do i need and

where can i get them?

Hope someone can help me here, thanks,

Konrad

So I got everything working at msiwind.net

Maybe you could help us with a step-by-step-tutorial?

I tried it with the MSIWindosx86.iso, burned it on a DVD and startet Installation. At first, everything except WLAN/LAN and the Resolution worked fine, then I was so stupid to upgrade to 10.5.6 and the Keyboard and the Trackpad didn't work anymore and I got some Crashes. So I got frustrated and installed Windows again.

My biggest Problem is the screen-resolution of 1024*600. OS X didn't offer this resolution to me, only 800x600 oder 1024*768 and higher/lower 4/3-Resolutions, but no Widescreen.

I noticed that the Sleepmode didn't work - how can I fix that?

I saw OS X on a friend's Lenovo S10, where everything works fine. He wrote a Tutorial in German how to do so:

http://ianews.technikjournalist.com/mac-os...sche-anleitung/

So... can anybody help me with my LG X110?

Thanks!

Yes I can. But I'm swamped all week school work.

I will write a step-by-step tutorial by the end of the weekend for you.

In the mean time, please download "iATKOS 5i" so that you have the install disk you need.

I have had very good experience with iATKOS on both my desktop, and my LG X110.

Everything will work for your EXCEPT:

Sleep/hibernate(I might have a fix for this)

Webcam

Microphone/headphone jack(I have an app I have yet to test that may get the headphone jack working)

I have drivers for everything else somewhere... It's just a matter of uploading them and posting links in the tutorial(which I will get to within the next 6.5 days - if your lucky earlier)

WiFi doesn't work with AirPort, you have to use a seperate program to connect, but after so long wanting OS X, and WiFi being the only thing that stopped me, I'm happy with it:D

Sorry for keeping you waiting,

-Konrad

Okey... Here it is. It has a few warnings during bootup... conflicting drivers and suck, but it runs clean and I hope you love it as much as I do!
