Ozzzapoo
Hi. I've just downloaded iPC 10.5.6 and I tried booting the installation but it hung with the "Still waiting for root device" error. When I downloaded iATKOS and Kalyway they both booted fine, so what's wrong with iPC? How can I fix this? HDD: Some average one NOT connected by SATA DVD: Pioneer DVD Burner Motherboard: Some random Gigabyte one. Ethernet & Audio: Both SiS, incompatible. CPU: Intel Celeron Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147168-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites
cdummy
Try anything but Sis chipset based motherboard. I'd prefer intel based. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147168-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-1042824 Share on other sites
Bojidar Kafelov
Try Leo4All! I was having the same problem and tried Leo4All and it worked fine for me! P.S. Try with commands in the Darwin Boot Loader like -x -v rd=disk1s1 cpus=1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147168-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-1042830 Share on other sites
Ozzzapoo
I think, based on a few comments I've read in the other solution threads, that people often have that error with iPC, so I'm going to try Leo4all or iDeneb soon. Meanwhile, VMWare is working fine. Thanks for your responses!
