Hey everyone,

I've got a dual boot i9300 with Vista and Fedora that I would like to install OSX86 on using iDeneb. However, I'm curious as to if anyone else has done this, and if so what options they checked under the "Customize" button during install. Specific hardware:

Pentium M 1.6 single core

2GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 (1920x1200 screen)

NEC DVD+-RW ND6650A

Intel® 82801FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 2653

RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host COntroller

Conextant D110 MDC V.92 Modem

Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller

Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection

Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Controller

SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

SigmaTel C-Major Audio

A5XJUJKA IDE Controller

Microsoft iSCSI Initiator

Intel® 82801 PCI Bridge - 2448

Intel® 82801FB/FBM SMBus Controller - 266A

Intel® 82801FBM LPC Interface Controller - 2641

Mobile Intel® 915GM/PM Express PCI Express Root Port - 2591

Mobile Intel® 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML Express Processor to DRAM Controller - 2590

I bolded the ones I beleive make a difference. Thanks in advance! Also, if there is another release other than iDeneb that may be easier for this machine, let me know.

Well, going to give this a shot:

Audio/Sigmatel 9200 - Inspirion 9400

Video/NVidia/NVinjectGO

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

****edit****

Got the "Still waiting on root device" error. I didn't think this was an nForce chipset, but I'll give the patched iso a try. This time I'm checking:

Audio/Sigmatel 9200 - Inspirion 9400

Chipset (everything) - recco from another thread

Kernel/Kernel 9.2.0 Speedstep - recco from another thread

Video/NVidia/NVinjectGO

****edit****

So for anyone who finds this thread searching later, that worked for me. I've only used it for a few moments, and so far I know wireless, LAN, and Sleep don't work yet. Again, I'll keep posting as I find what works on this machine.

OK, I have ALMOST everything running successfully now. Here is where I am:

iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5, checked the following boxes:

Audio/Sigmatel 9200 - Inspirion 9400

Chipset (everything) - recco from another thread

Kernel/Kernel 9.2.0 Speedstep - recco from another thread

Video/NVidia/NVinjectGO

Post install I did the following. Some of these may have been installable via the iDeneb DVD, but I either did not realize it at the time, or I did not see them.

OSX86Tools_1.0.150 - Search google and you'll find it. This aids in installing the kext files below. (I know this was in Applications under customize for iDeneb)

AppleAC97Audio.kext - Search google to find one for Leopard.

AppleBCM440XEthernet.kext - Search google to find one for Leopard.

iwi2200.dmg - This is from iwidarwin, again search google for iwidarwin, and for instructions on how to use it. WPA is not supported.

My only problem at this moment is sleep. The laptop will go to sleep, but it will never wake up from it. It just sits and never turns on the display.

WIFI did not work out of the box. See above post on iwidarwin.

I just got Dual Display working. Now I'm down to just Sleep not functioning. Here's how I got dual display:

  1. Downloaded the following plist editor: http://www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html
  2. su - (enter root passwd)
  3. cp /System/Library/Extensions/NVinjectGO.kext/Contents/Info.plist /Modded.plist
  4. chmod a+w /Modded.plist
  5. Open Modded.plist with Pref Setter, and change the NVCAP entry to: 0400000000000500020000000000000700000000
  6. Save and Close
  7. cp /Modded.plist /System/Library/Extensions/NVinjectGO.kext/Contents/Info.plist
  8. chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
  9. chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions
  10. rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/Caches
  11. rm -r /System/Library/Caches
  12. rm -r /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
  13. reboot

After this, you should have dual display. If you're lazy and don't want to do all the plist editing, just open the Info.plist file in vi, and paste this value in for the NVCAP: BAAAAAAABQACAAAAAAAABwAAAAA=
