pedrohxn
Here is my situation: I have a 2x250Gb RAID, partitioned 80GB NTFS + 150GB NTFS + 200GB NTFS + 50GB unallocated (for OSx)... So I have a lot of data on NTFS partitions that I CAN'T loose anything... And Kalyway's 10.5.2 installer don't show me any partition or HD. Do I need any driver or something? Any help please? Thank you for now! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147130-raid-help/ Share on other sites
Lanceomni
Unfortunately if you have your RAID set up via an on-board FAKE RAID you most likely will not get it to work. If you have a PCI or PCIe RAID card and this is a true RAID controller, one that does the processing on the card and doesn't pawn it off on your CPU, you may still have a chance. Currently with OSX you can set up a Soft/FAKE RAID to use for scratch disk and there are also methods of setting this up and booting from it. I was in the same boat using my on-board RAID option. I thought that any RAID that was not set up by the OS was a true RAID but this is incorrect as most on-board (motherboard RAID features are basically pushing all the processing off on the CPU. I also though that because this is set up before any device even boot that it should work but unfortunately no. You best bet is second HD for OSX. Though you will not be able to mount your RAID to share files.
