Right, running the current spec

iAtkos 10.5.5 with 9.2 Kernel

P5L 1394 ASUS Motherboard

P4 830D Processor

GMA 950 Onboard VGA

Fujitsu SATA Hard Drive

3gb Ram (3 Channels x 1gb)

SpeedCom USB Wifi stick (identifies as Zydas 1211 Rev A chipset)

Operates fine under normal load, however, when using UTorrent or iPlayer Desktop Edition (a UK service similar to Hulu) the connection cuts out after a short period. The ZyDAS WLAN program shows the connection is still up - but the light on the USB stick remains a solid colour (as opposed to flashing when it is working) - uTorrent freezes and internet connectivity is gone.

Have tried:

1) cpus=1

2) Setting MTU in System Preferences to 1000 on Full-Duplex

Limiting the speed of uTorrent does seem to extend the length of uptime - if I set at say 50kbps then the length of time before it crashes is a lot longer (in terms of multiple hours) than say if it is downloading at 600kbps (10minutes max)

Anyone got any ideas? Have heard about replacing IONetworking.kext from an earlier version - any ideas if this would work - and :) where Id go about getting it without getting a complete 10.4.8 distro

Right, have now limited connection to 100kbp/s download and 10kbp/s download, and the connection has been live for 18 hours now.

It seems that there is a throughput level that kills the connection - does this give anyone more ideas as to what is causing it?
