lemfresh
Hi, I'm going to install OSX on my desktop over the weekend and I need a little help regarding hardware. I've done some reading and understand some, but not all of the information. My motherboard is the main concern, it's an Asus P5K Intel P35. Looking at the hardware compability lists I can only find reference to this motherboard for version 10.5.1. Does anyone have experience with the P5K and could perhaps help me with it? The rest of my system is - Intel Q6600, 8800GT, 4GB Ram, Sata HDD and IDE DVD RW Drive. Should these give me any problems? Thanks! lemfresh
Done a little more reading. Is there a problem with using a IDE DVD Drive on the P5K? lemfresh
I'm going to try Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd. Just ordered a sata DVD drive which should work better. I'm hoping OOTB the drivers I need are available for my hardware. Badpete
I have no info on your system, but I could not install either ideneb 10.5.5 or leo4all (XxX) 10.5.6 rev1b with my Sata DVD drive. Needed to use put my IDE DVD drive (Pioneer A07) into the box to install (well actually its hanging outside the box). Doesn't seem to see my LG Sata burner... Took me awhile to figure that one out. Every bit of info can help... I did install OSX onto a Sata hard drive though. So no idea what went wrong with burner. Just stuck a disk into my sata dvd drive and its spinning like a demon but I see nothing in OSX. Hmmm might have to shutdown to get it out.. Ah good it spun down but won't release the disk (paperclip time). Good luck Asus M2NBP- CSM VM Motherboard with integrated (working with AzaliaAudio) sound and video (default, Safari update and it works fine now..).
