ericft
I recently installed the ideneb dvd on my quad core OC 3ghz PC, 7600GT, Gigabyte P35-DS3R, 4gb ram and noticed that sometimes browsing the web and running some applications was sort of sluggish...i wanted to know if other than the ease of software updates, is there a performance/speed advantage to the retail dvd install? I was planning on doing it as a hopeful change but looking at the daunting, terminal line heavy installation process, i am thinking twice about doing it...(a real easy minimal step guide to retail install link would be appreciated as well) so... 1. is the retail vanilla install just for purists or is it really faster/better 2. can i clone the ideneb hackintosh install with superduper onto a raid 0 array (trying to get more speed) and then reboot and designate my raid array as the primary boot drive? 3. which is the easiest retail install version...i have read so many variants, multiple kext files downloads....it all seems so complicated when compared to the prepackaged ideneb iso...don't mean to sound lazy but i've got to sleep sometime and reading the endless posts keeps me up all night and more confused... thanks for all your help... Synaesthesia
It really shouldn't be running slow with your setup. A retail install shouldn't be any faster than iDeneb, but you can give it a shot! gielie
I had Iatkos 10.5.5 wich is a very good install for my system, now i have the retail with 123 boot for the P5K se serie (tut somewhere here) and i think the retail is a bit smoothier, i did not do any benchmarks but the feeling is beter with the retail. So i would say give it a shot.
