I have read and took so much from this sight I think it's only fair that I put back some information. I know this has been covered, so this document is just to reinforce what has already been said. My installation was not straightforward. My first two days I spent trying to figure out why I was getting an EBIOS error from a new LG DVD drive. I finally replaced it with a newer LG Drive and it started working. I no longer trust these drive to read for Mac every time now, so I made a boot 132 USB boot thumb drive. The drive works great and cuts a couple of seconds of the boot time.

The following are problem I do see right now:

1. WILL NOT WAKE: Like a lot of other I see out here is having problems with the system waking out of sleep.

2. KEYBOARD: I will also try another keyboard but it appears that the USN dongle for the keyboard keeps falling asleep and will not wake unless it's unplugged and plugged back in.

3. GPU: The system info still reports a 256 VRAM video card when there is a DDR3 512mb card in the machine

4. Can not read CPU Temp from MAC OS. I have installed iStat Pro

5. I must configure my Zoom USB bluetooth

6. I also would like to install my motherboard wireless antenna and get it working (card is installed no detection)

Any suggestions on books would be great. I am an avid windows user who is now trying MAC as I have heard so much about it. I also own a ABIT IP35 Pro E8400 with 4GB Windows XP box. I would love to give this up to my son and just use the one box for both Mac and Windows. any advice would be helpful

I have this board and sleep is working good. Check your bios settings. I recently installed the new chameleon with dsdt override. I made a mkext of my audioeneabler kext, dsmos, smbiosenabler which I put in the /Extra folder--leaving the rest of my install vanilla.

Try using efi strings on your com.apple.Boot.plist

Thermo (attached) works.

Download the driver from Realtek. Your card is/should be detected under USB devices.

I think the P5W DH Deluxe is a really good choice for a hackintosh. Mine runs perfectly on a vanilla install.
