Acidic
Hey all, I currently have 10.5.3 installed on this system ASUS P5W DH Deluxe EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB SATA 3.0 gb/s< Kalyway 10.5.1 installed, all working 100%, used NVinject 0.21 for graphics Ive been dual booting both Mac OS and Windows XP The only problem is that I have had to change the bios settings every time I want to boot on either system. Here are the bios settings I use to switch to the mac portion. Bios Settings: -Go to IDE configuration and change the ide/sata mode to AHCI -Enable “Execute Disable function” -Turn off Speedstep Settings (unless you plan to use a hacked speedstep kernel) -Change the Jmicron Controller to AHCI (only if you are using Jmicron, otherwise, disable it) -MicroCode Update: Enabled -Max CPUID Limite: Enabled -ACPI2 support : yes -ACPI APIC: Enabled -Suspend mode: S3 When ever I want to go over to the XP portion I Load Setup defaults by pressing F5. Lately whenever I bootup my computer it takes FOREVER to get past the first bios screen, roughly four minutes to actually get to the windows xp operating system loading screen. Otherwise Windows XP as well as mac runs perfectly, quick and fast. I'm not sure if loading these settings over and over has caused my motherboard to do this Any help is appreciated Thanks. Synaesthesia
Is it really necessary to dual-boot like that? Can't you get a better way, like to get windows running under AHCI? Acidic
well i figured out my problem....... i first tried testing the memory sticks.... took one out blah blah didn't work... .then i disconnected the apple usb keyboard that was connected from the usb slots.... everything is working perfectly. The apple keyboard was slowing down the splash screen the post boot screen etc etc. Can't figure out why, but glad everything works!
