Nihal
So I am new to this site, so first of all, hello. Now, I have more than 1 computer, I tried installing different distributers of Mac OS for PC on my spare computer, they just DO NOT WORK. I keep getting stuck at one point. After installing Mac OS, the computer does not boot into it, instead, keeps restarting over and over again. Computer 1: Dell 4550 Pentium 4 2.53 GHz 768 MB RAM NVidia GeForce4i 64 MB AGP SoundBlaster Live 5.1 Dell Computer 2: VMX300 Pentium 4 3.0 GHz (1MB Cache) 1.00 GB of RAM ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB AGP Computer 3: Dell B110 (DE051) Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz (512 KB Cache) 768 MB of RAM SoundMAX Audio Intel Intergrated Video Card OR NVidia 5200 128 MB PCI Video Card I tried installing AtkOS4i and 5i, Kalyway 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 (with acpi), JaS and iDeneb, but it KEEPS RESTARTING AFTER INSTALL REBOOT! It happens on all these computers. One person said he installed JaS on the B110 and it installed fine, but in my case IT KEEPS RESTARTING AFTER INSTALL REBOOT! Do I need to set something in the BIOS? I would like to install it on the Dell B110 or the Dell 4550 (probably the B110 since its a basic computer with no expansion cards). The B110 also has an upgraded Pentium 4 3.0 GHz which would make it faster than the previous Celeron D processor which used to be on this computer. Please give me clear instructions on what to do. Tell me which distribute works. I want to install 10.5.5 and have sound working, since I want to test out Garageband. Better, please give me clear instructions step-by-step on how to install it on a B110 with NO EXPANSION CARDS since people know whats in it with the exception of the Processor and the NVIDIA PCI Video Card which I might not use in the B110. DimotrEE
how you do your harddisk partition during the installation? Are you using MBR? derekreid
If you installed the vanilla kernel on a P4 machine it probably causes the reboot loop. Try using the Voodoo kernel (more info here) or other options on the install disc.
