jprowland
This is a bit old but I couldn't find something to help when I had the problem today so I thought I'd add my solution when I figured it out. Using a Samsung SATA DVD burner with a Gigabye GA-EX58-UD5 (Core i7) motherboard. Oddly, had no problem installing last week. Took a while but I figured out what the problem was: sometime between last week and this, I went into the BIOS and fiddled with some settings, including changing the SATA IDE mode from "Legacy" to "Native". When I set it back to "Legacy" mode, the install worked fine. Hope this helps...
