SIGH!! I am really desperate!

I burned some twenty versions including the latest ideneb 10.5.5, iatks v4, leop4allv4 kalyway 10.5.2

I tried all possible commands:

when I boot I write -v-x platform CPUs = 2 = X86pc -f

but nothing ..... the instalaltion doesn't start at all

I unplugged all unnecessary

Installation freezes now and always this error

"Firewire unable to determine security-mode, defaulting to full-secure

still waiting for root device "..."

someone told me that "still waiting for root device" means does not recognize the dvd player ....

my configuration is:

1. ide dvd player (connected primary) master

ide dvd burner (connected primary) slave

2. 80gb sata hd from (linked in secondary)

I have an external DVD player but does not boot - what can i do?

This is a bit old but I couldn't find something to help when I had the problem today so I thought I'd add my solution when I figured it out. Using a Samsung SATA DVD burner with a Gigabye GA-EX58-UD5 (Core i7) motherboard.

Oddly, had no problem installing last week. Took a while but I figured out what the problem was: sometime between last week and this, I went into the BIOS and fiddled with some settings, including changing the SATA IDE mode from "Legacy" to "Native". When I set it back to "Legacy" mode, the install worked fine.

Hope this helps...
