Himself(themanhimself)
Well, folks, thanks to a number of guides, coders, and posters (Andy4life, CRP, mercurysquad, and dfe) and also friend who knew Linux and Mac coding well enough to help explain the Terminal commands, I submit to you the Sony Vaio FS715 running OS X 10.5.5 (iDeneb v1.3 distro) with full QE/CI, multiple resolutions, sleep mode, and Wifi. For your consideration, here is the process I used (and I'm fairly certain there may be more efficient ways of doing it, so feel free to experiment). My full system specs are posted at the end. UPDATE (1/11/2008) 1.) Installed Mac OS X 10.5.5 using iDeneb v1.3 in safe mode. Safe mode is a must as any time I tried to boot the loader with any other mode, it would fail. I also had no luck with any other 10.5.x bootloader apart from iDeneb (sorry JaS and Kalyway, couldn't even get those to load into the installer). Custom Options Audio: AppleAzaliaAudio Chipset: ICHxFixed Kernel: StageXNU 9.4.0 Ethernet: Intel100ProVE Fix: Powermanagement AppleSMBIOS 677 Video: GMA950 **This is one spot where there might be a simpler solution. I could never get OS X to boot directly to the desktop apart from this due to the standard AppleIntelFrameBuffer.kext, so it's just what worked for me. I took out the hard drive and using an hardware adapter mounted it to my iMac to upload the new FrameBuffer.kext from dfe (see below). 2.) For QE/CI with GMA915 chips, follow the guide (Click Here) provided by mercurysquad to install dfe's LegacyEnabler and FrameBuffer kexts. You may need to repair permissions, but if you read over mercurysquad's post carefully and follow his instructions, you should end up with full QE/CI, sleep mode, and resolution control. 3.) To enable Wifi, use the information jalavoui has provided concerning iwi's Intel Wifi drivers (Click Here). 4.) To enable the IntelPro/100 ethernet, use the drivers provided by caladan1810 (Click Here). NOTE: when you unzip, you will need to right click and select "show package contents" to see the actual kext and the installation instructions. Cheers!
