Quaront
Is there a technique for adding kext files to install a DISTRO DVD that doesn't recognize the chipset because of a unloaded kext (or kext thats a alternative selection on the DVD)? Could this be done with Boot-132 and a Distro? in this particular case, the chipset is ULI M1683 chipset / 5229, it will boot with AppleVIAATA.kext /10.5.5 distro.........However, It will not boot from iPC 10.5.6, as the generic IDE driver doesn't recognize the chipset. The only workaround I've found is to: Use a particular 10.5.5 install that does load AppleVIAata.kext, and load to a primary partition. Is there a way to load the AppleVIAATA.kext from -s using a disk/usb key/or alternative, during a DVD Install to get the IDE/Sata recognized? The only alternative I have come across is, having to modify/add kexts/rebuild/burn a modified DVD. Thanks for your suggestions Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145160-boot-132-or-alternative-to-add-kexts-for-a-distro-install/ Share on other sites
