dzion32
I did a search and couldn't find any info on this topic. I have various PowerMac parts and pieces that I have accumulated over time. I have enough now that I want to build complete machines. The problem is I don't fully understand Apple's system for matching logic boards and processors. They have 661- and 630- and 820- prefixes and EEE codes for the serial numbers. Sometimes the components have multiple stickers on them. In some cases I have been able to surmise a match from online stores, but even that amounts to guessing. Is there any sure-fire method I can use to match the model numbers on a CPU with the correct logic board? Here is the info I took off the actual CPUs. Each block of text represents a bar-coded sticker: ************Liquid Cooled 2.5 CPU pair*********** 2R7314GAU5PA DELPHI 603-8236-A 52417371 J550900BKRQGA 630-6685 / T6489 CHINA MPU J544501CWRQGA 630-6685 / T6489 CHINA MPU J543303QTRPKA 603-5877 CHINA MPU BEST J57310066U88A 631-0169 CHINA DELPHI MPU requires logic board ?? *************2.0 GHz CPU pair****************************** J544203HERG8A 630-6634 / T6663 CHINA MPU J544203M1RG8A 630-6634 / T6663 CHINA MPU requires logic board ?? ***************2.0GHz CPU pair*************** KC347H15EQ9DB SG 630-4882 / T4838 KC340H110QA3A SG 630-4890 / T4838 requires logic board ?? ***************1.8GHz CPU pair************************ KC34906J5QEHB SG 630-4912 / T4916 KC43601GVQZYB SG 630-6422 / T4959 KC412H04SQ9BC SG 630-4879 / T4870 requires logic board ?? ************************************ If there is a web site or doc that explains this I would be grateful. i814u2
I know this post is old, but I didn't see any responses. In the interest of providing information for future search results, I have at least one pair that matches your question. I have a a pair of 630-4912/T4916 numbered CPUs that came from a logic board with the following numbers: 630-4914 630T4918. This board has eight RAM slots total. I also have a pair of 630-6606/T6604 that are from logic board number 630-6691 630T6688. This logic board has four RAM slots total.
