tampa
My set up is a hackintosh with dual boot for XP Pro and Mac OS X 10.5.6. The config of my hardware is - Intel Core 2 duo 6750 Asus P5k-VM motherboard onboard video chipset 1 IDE 160 GB HDD with XP Pro installed (disk 1, not recognized by MACOSX) 1 IDE 120 GB HDD (disk2, not recognized by MACOSX) 1 SATA 1 TB HDD with 3 partitions, one having Mac OSX installed (disk 3) (BIOS configures SATA as AHCI) 1 SATA DVD drive I have 10.5.6 installed with the following options - Vanilla Kernel, ICHx chipset driver, Seatbelt and ALC 883 audio. Used the ethernet drivers from 10.5.5 ideneb which work perfectly. The problem Almost everytime I try to download a file from internet, any software etc., MACOSX gives me the message that hold down the power button to restart the computer. A file is created in the download folder which is usually renamed as *.dmg.download. Of course this file is totally useless for installation purposes. The system log, from boot up to the error, is given below: Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost kernel[0]: 5 Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost com.apple.launchctl.System[2]: launchctl: Please convert the following to launchd: /etc/mach_init.d/dashboardadvisoryd.plist Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.blued): Unknown key for boolean: EnableTransactions Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost com.apple.launchd[1] (org.cups.cupsd): Unknown key: SHAuthorizationRight Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost com.apple.launchd[1] (org.ntp.ntpd): Unknown key: SHAuthorizationRight Jan 5 13:33:13 localhost kextd[10]: 418 cached, 0 uncached personalities to catalog Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: [JMicronATA] PIO mode 0 @ 600 ns Jan 5 13:33:18 localhost fseventsd[34]: bumping event counter to: 0x5e94 (current 0x0) from log file '00000000000008b4' Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: [JMicronATA] selected PIO timing entry 4 Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: [JMicronATA] selected Ultra mode 6 Jan 5 13:33:18 localhost bootlog[43]: BOOT_TIME: 1231180391 0 Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: [JMicronATA] PIO mode 4 @ 120 ns Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: [JMicronATA] Ultra mode 6 Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: Got boot device = IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/SATA@1F,2/AppleAHCI/CHN0@0/IOAHCIDevice@0/AppleAHCIDiskDriver/IOAHCIBlockStorageDevice/IOBlockStorageDriver/ST31000340AS Media/IOFDiskPartitionScheme/Untitled 3@3 Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: BSD root: disk0s3, major 14, minor 3 Jan 5 13:33:20 localhost kernel[0]: Extension "com.apple.driver.iTunesPhoneDriver" has no explicit kernel dependency; using version 6.0. tampa
Repaired the permissions. Problem persists. However, I have narrowed it down a bit. The problem is occurring when .dmg files are being mounted. Any ideas???? tampa
Actually, I had installed Seatbelt 10.5.5 with Kernel 9.6.0 and I guess that was causing all the problems. A re-install without seatbelt 10.5.5 seems to be working fine. Thanks everybody, specially Giorgio, for helping me out in sorting out the issue.
