Aro2220
iDeneb boots up the installer. No drives are listed in the installer. If I open disk utility I can see my hard drive with the 3 partitions (windows vista, windows vista cd recovery bs, 20gb empty partition as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format i made using diskpart in windows vista. The problem is I can't do anything to any of the partitions. If I try I get a simple "Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed." Can't mount, either. Why is this happening? Is it possible my toshiba laptop won't work due to some motherboard incompatibility? I don't know what incompatibility that might be...I'm new to hackintoshes. I used CPU-Z and made sure my processor can handle SSE2..it can, and it can also do SSE3. But, I don't think this is a processor problem. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks a lot! Aro2220
it also says LPC Hub Controller 1: Model: Toshiba ICH8M-E (ICH8) LPC Interface Controller a bunch of other things listed as (ICH8) and under chipset it says, "Toshiba Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Express Processor to DRAM Controller" I think ICH8M-E / ICH8 and PM965/GM965/GL960 are important. I hope that helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144743-having-trouble-mounting-my-drive-in-ideneb-installer/#findComment-1027247 Share on other sites
Aro2220
I used Kalyway which was able to detect my hard drive in the main screen, but still not write to the partitioned drive. In disk utility I was able to click erase (not erase free space) and formatted the drive to the mac journaled partition format. Then I was able to fix, verify and off I went. It's possible I could have done this in iDeneb; if I had clicked erase and not erase free space since even in Kalyway it didn't work when I clicked first aid at first. Anyway, on to the next step...
