cadeon
Get iPC 10.5.6. It's the best, most complete package I've found. Get AT LEAST PPF 1. If you don't, you'll get the 'waiting for root device' kiss of death. Start off the dvd, use disk utility to partition your hard drive (Sata or IDE). I used GUID, it seems like the thing to do. Install using the Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel, and the 10.5.5 seatbelt. I installed the CPUS=1 fix also, as that seems to make things more stable. Install an NvidiaATA kext. I ended up using the older one- not the Test one, as it seemed to give me kernel panics. Choose the Azallia Audio. None of the NVinjects have ever worked for me, so skip them for now. Despite you thinking otherwise, your ethernet driver is not on this disc, either. Skip those. The install should go fine. When the installer finishes, you may get a kernel panic. Don't worry, everything that needed to get done did get done. You should now be able to get into OS X, though with no accelerated video (QE/CI) or LAN. Don't Bother With Forcedeth, you will only hurt yourself. Go directly to here and get this kext and install it. http://localhostr.com/files/0a0941/nForceLAN.zip You'll now have LAN. You won't get QE/CI with the onboard GeForce 6100. Don't try. Get a PCIe card and get the driver for it. Happy Hunting! zat82
MANY thanks I'll try your method. Have some updates? Using CPU=1 fix forces using only one core?
