I'm going to upgrade the motherboard for my Hackintosh and relegate the old mobo to file server duty. On the old mobo, I'd like to run Ubuntu Server 8.10 as the host OS then run FreeNAS as a guest OS on VMware Server. I don't really intend to run many services under Ubuntu and FreeNAS, so I don't think I need a very powerful CPU...I was thinking an affordable Celeron 430 should suffice, but I've no first hand experience with a 430.

So, does the Celeron 430 have enough mojo to run VMware Server? I'd like to hear some thoughts from Celeron 430 owners before I commit to buying equipment.

Thanks,

Zoomie
