Nero6
I just finished installing OSX on a primary partition (as opposed to all the other times I did it on a logical one), and now for some reason when I went to create my user account, it gave me a message saying it was unable to create the user, and closed the create account dialogue, only to re-open it again. When I try to create it again, it gives me the same error message, closes and opens itself again. This forces me to reboot, and when I do I dont get the create user gui, I get the root terminal. So, with this problem, I seem the logical solution would be to create the user using the root terminal. Does anyone here know how? If not, do you know how to get around this problem so I can successfully add a user? (Oddly enough, I never had this problem when the OS was on a logical partition. O_o) Nero6 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14456-how-can-you-create-a-new-user-from-the-terminal/ Share on other sites
potenuse
It's not a solution for doing in from the terminal but here is a great workaround for creating a new admin user: mount -uw / rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone shutdown -h now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14456-how-can-you-create-a-new-user-from-the-terminal/#findComment-1183205 Share on other sites
