Hello and good morning. last night I have installed iPC. After I try and boot OSX, the kernel loads and then I am brought to the loading screen with the gray apple. I don't think anything is loading because the wheel below the apple is not rotating to indicate loading. I rebooted into diagnostic instead of -v and right after that, my computer hangs up after that. Nothing is loading under diagnostic, so I think I have a serious problem. I'm sorry if I explained this poorly. Can anyone help me?

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

I have a similar, if not exactly the same, problem. I have installed iPC (with PPF1 and PPF2 applied) to a case-insensitive journalled HFS+ partition. I was able to get to the boot loader’s menu without problems, entered -f -v "Graphics Mode"="1680x1050x32@60" and pressed Enter. Booting proceeded seemingly normally, with messages regarding reading something from the partition. Then, for a short moment, the signal from the graphics card disappeared (I believe this was caused by a video mode change), and then the entire screen was filled with black colour and the system stopped. From there, it did not react to anything I did, and the hard disk and CPU activity indicators on the physical computer case did not flicker a single time. So I rebooted and tried passing no arguments to the kernel. The grey screen with the Apple logo showed up and stayed. I do not know precisely if it hanged immediately when this screen was displayed, but the boot proceeded just like the first time, meaning not proceeded at all.

I will try that and report back if it helps, thanks. :)

Edit: my memory is DDR2-400. :P I have tried selecting the first of the two auto-detecting SMBIOS things but it did not help, and then I have tried selecting the patch for 667 MHz and the bootloader with built-in SMBIOS patching simultaneously, but that did not help either. As this was a somewhat strange combination, I will try to select various individual options when I get a chance to restart my computer. :P

Hi,

Same problem here with iPC.

I have an E6300 mounted on an ICH7 motherboard (asus vintage barebone) with PC5300 DDR2 (so I selected SMBios for 667Mhz), GMA 950 gfx.

Any tips on which options I need to check? (I chose ICHx in Chipset, and vanilla kernel, is it correct?)
