sunfishdied
Hey guys , have u ever experienced the {censored}in still waiting for boot device problem on P43 + ICH10 (no R) boards ? Good people here on InsanelyMac has given us many solutions including patched AHCIPort.kext or even the legacy way with patched PxxxATA.kext solution with AHCI settings set to IDE mode . Guys ,thanks very much , but it sucks on still waiting for boot device ... hold and still .... or sucks on xxxx buffer head ..... After 3 days of trying there may comes a solution : List my Devices : Intel Core 2 Dual CPU E2280 2G , OC to 2.67G (10x266) AData DDR2 800 2G x2 Asrock P43DE with Intel P43 Chipset and ICH10 (i updated the bios to 1.10 released on Christmas, that should be no difference , for this bios fix the NB voltage things I think....) Geforce 8600 GT 256M Creative Audigy 2 NX USB Maxtor OneTouch II Firewire 800 + USB enclosure with an WD250 IDE HD inside USB-DVDRW(3 Disk burnt , iDeneb 10.5.5 , patched iDeneb 10.5.5 ,patched iPC 10.5.6) AHCI settings set to AHCI mode and with hot-plug and power management enabled, smart on Seagate 7200.11 640G Sata HD on SATA port 1 Solution : so any guys with problem of this P43DE board or suffers similar problems with iCH10 could have a try on this : 1. Check your BIOS configuration Find in IDE xxx -> enable AHCI and SMART Find in Chipset xxx -> enable onboard LAN and Audio and find a "hidden" HPET title then Enable 2. Find an usb hard drive enclosure , and a external DVD , boot from External ,(for me , this {censored}in board would not boot iDeneb 10.5.5 DVD without an cpus=1) and you will see no HD on HD Utilities window . Fine ,this is because that you got an ICH-10 which iDeneb could not recognize. Maybe some experts of you might thought that we could use a modified AppleVIAATA.kext and embed it into iDeneb's Extensions.mkext to start and install to the onboard IDE port (Asrock P43DE uses an VIA IDE .... ) and for I have tried on that , it could cause a stop at any time you use Leopard , so FORGET about that plz . It's very STRANGE that directly install from a patched iDeneb 10.5.5 would not boot .... even after the DSDT patched ..... I got problems on this for the last two days..... 3. Now connect your original HD with your USB HD enclosure , you will find it in HD Utilities window for sure . Install iDeneb on that, check cpus=1 ({censored}in bios ... ) and ich10 patch , RealtekR1000 kext and ALC888 patch ( for which our VTxxx onboard sound might works.....hopefully ....) and now perform an installation.....wait till it completed 4. Now you will be able to boot from the External HD with cpus=1 and -f (without -f flag, kernel panic on ACPI and four languages screen would appear for sure , if you encounter problems here try flag with -v and see what cause it ...) 5.Your ethernet would be working by now , download <DSDT Patcher GUI> by the PCWiz team (Thanks much ...) Install bootloader.pkg in Tools folder and then build an DSDT patch then apply on your installation 6.get a copy of the original kernel (10m aprox...) and try to boot from that with cpus=2 -f ..... for me , it works !! 7.Uses CCC to copy it to SATA drive , on which i used to run 10.5.6 retailed Leopard on a 945GC board , repeat 5. on DSDT patch to that drive , and successfully boot from that .... 8.Uses EFI-Studio or OSx86Tools to add gfx-efi string .... For my Audigy 2 NX , it works out of box ,and for those want to use onboard cards, search InsanelyMac ,might be working ..... For on board VIA IDE , forget about that .... I got 4G Ram , the 4G patched VIAATA would work after adding my DeviceID but would halt during Leopard desktop.....go and get external usb enclosures ...that would be very cheap.... Asrock P43DE get 6 USB on back and 4 on front ,if totally 10 usb would not be enough .... like me .... I got an old Adaptec AUA-3020 PCI card which provides 3xUSB2 and 2xFirewire400 and works out of box.... And for AsrockP43DE users , if you fails my way ,please let me know at sunfishdied@163.com . And based on my solution , you can try the retailed way and let me know if you succeeded . Thanks for watching.....
