alexlafreniere
Okay so I have an MSI P35 Neo motherboard. I've done my research and apparently many people haven't been able to get OS X working with these specific MSI P35 chipset based boards. I heard it was a combination of IDE drive and ACPI problems, so I booted the install DVD's off an external USB drive and none of the distributions I tried even successfully booted into the OS X Installer except for iDeneb. I've tried a couple different combinations of kext's and patches in the installer, but the farthest I've gotten is a huge scrolling screen of all the kext's being used at boot before the thing just crashes and reboots. My system specs: MSI P35 Neo Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz 2 GB G-Skill DDR2 800 RAM 2x 160GB SATA HDD's External USB DVD drive Nvidia 8500GT Any help with this would be much appreciated. alexlafreniere
Okay after a bit of tweaking I finally got it to work. Just for reference for other MSI P35 users I used the following kexts and patches in the installer: ACPI fix CPU fix Marvell chipset driver JMicron controller driver and whatever driver you need for your graphics card.
