yellowbkpk
I spent the entire day trying out all of the tutorials, reading HOWTOs and stickies, but I still haven't gotten a successful boot on my Dell M90. I have a Dell Precision Mobile WorkStation M90: Processor: T7600 Core 2 Duo Video: G71GL core 512MB card (Probably a Quadro 7500 chip) I've tried installing with the latest versions of both iDeneb and Kalyway. My most recent try is with Kalyway. I partitioned with MBR. I boot with "-v cpus=1" and it hangs. The last two lines: Jan 2 01:13:38 localhost configd[44]: Error: No interface name for AirPort_Brcm43xx Jan 2 01:13:38 localhost configd[44]: Error: ioPublishedDriverCallback() failed to initDeviceFromService() Any thoughts on where to go from here? Which stuff should I be installing during installation? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144205-leopard-on-dell-m90/ Share on other sites
yellowbkpk
I have a booting install now. It seems that turning off SpeedStep in BIOS, booting with "-v cpus=1", and using the Vanilla kernel off of the Kalyway CD works. Wireless on the Broadcom works when I use the wifi_Broadcom install option. Sound works if you go to the Sound preferences and change the device for output to "Internal Speakers", "Stereo Master Output" instead of "Subwoofer". Sleep and wake works fine. The "About this mac" dialog shows that I have a 1GHz Core 2 Duo, when in fact I have a 2.33GHz machine. Next up is to figure out how to fix that. profilo
Hi! Perhaps I have found a solution (useful also for all those people who have the problem of the continuous reboot at the start up): if I boot leopard on my dell m90 (Kalway 10.5.2) with the installation disk inserted, all normally sets out...without flags and without cups =1. About this mac tells me: 2ghz Intel core Duo! Then, perhaps the problem is not in the kernel neither in the dual core... Who can find a solution not to start leo with the cd inserted? Thanks! p.s. I've just installed leo. Which drivers and patches you recommend me for the video card, (1500m 256mbs), the audio and the rest that it doesn't work OOB? perealb
Has anyone one found a better solution for M90? I've been looking everywhere but no one seems to have a cleaner solution with the most important components working.
