hi there,

a couple days ago i fished out a few old osx discs i ahd laying around, its the holidays and i had to keep my self busy, plus i had recently got my self a new hdd and wondered it i cud boot past the "still waiting for root device"

so i grab a coffee and the install disc and i boot up, i press F8 and choose my dvd drive and that spins up and im greeted with the familiar darwin prompt ive "missed" i boot in -V just so if something goes wrong id know why. 10 mins later and i hell of a lot of code onscreen, i see leopard.. kinda im at the install screen and i work my way thru it, choosing the right drivers for my pc (i believe so at least) and the installation goes thru. i was told 7+ hours on the install but after around half hour it had finished.

it tries to restart so i let it,

and i see the darwin come up again. i let it start without a flag. and i see the same sorta code as from the install

but then it stops. usually a different place each time, but it stops after around 5 mins of code. i never see the set up your mac screens or anything else, just install. restart.noboot

please advise as i am this close. =[[

ive tried reinstalling with different drivers around 3 times already, and i dont know what to do. for once i saw the install screen let alone it finished, now for it to stop here, just seems cruel =[

im hoping that someone knows a way around this. and can tell me how to get it working.

PS. im a macn00b. so if it involves terminal commands and/or special boot flagging then please tell me clearly
