I have used that link to get a kext file called PCIFamily.kext and it fixed 3 things for me. My CardBus, Media card reader, and ethernet port was wokring great after installing that kext (and modifying AppleYukon2). This method was easy to do from 10.5.0 to 10.5.5 but on 10.5.6, it doesn't seem possible at this time.

I guess the link above doesn't have an updated kext file and therefore, OS X fails to load the kext and kernel panics.

So my question is:

1. Is there anyway to get working ethernet back?

This mostly effects users with Acer notebooks that have Marvell Ethernet adapters....

Still detected, can't get it to activate or even somewhat exist in OS X however...just like old times...

02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8038 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller [11ab:4352] (rev 14)

Solution partially found...

Use the 10.5.6 PCMCIA thing from the link I listed in 1st post, it contains the new kexts inside (do show package contents for proof)

However, on reboot I was stuck at the black screen of verbose and I didn't really see any errors that would make it halt like that...

EDIT: Fixed and confirmed working!

Bumpy time; Hey man, sorry for the amateurish question, but which file did you use? All of them are crossed off now, i'm sure they're working but i wonder why, and what did you do? I've used some files here and there and they install, but when i reboot, my laptop hangs on the first screen (loading screen). So what to do?

Thanks :)
