I installed leo4all 10.5.2, updated to 10.5.5 using zep's ASU. Then started using voodoo kernel and updated to 10.5.6. every since the 10.5.2 initial install, i can not burn any type of disc. My mobo is m2n6b-la and the complete sysrtem is an HP a6313w which has nforce chipset. The burner that comes in the PC is a hitachi-LG burner. I have bought a liteon burner and installed it and it does not work either. I have tried many different brands of media, still does not burn. System profiler says burn support: yes (generic drive) and disk utility says burn support: unsupported.

Is it the nforce chipset that is not allowing me to burn any type of disc? The drive reads all types of discs just will not burn. Has anyone here got a hitachi-lg burner working on a nforce chipset? Any way to get this working?

Here is the link to the system specs:

Also found this Some problems you will run in to with your setup: SATA DVD-writing does not work in OS X with the nForce chipsets here http://www.infinitemac.com/showthread.php?t=1786 (2nd post in that thread)

I am hoping that someone has figured this out?
