icefireicefire
I have an HP dv6000, that used to run Kalyway 10.5.2 until I decided to upgrade by reformatting and installing iDeneb 10.5.5. I did this, then updated successfully to 10.5.6. The only issues left are: - The DVD drive is not recognized (but it was in Kalyway 10.5.2). I am 75% sure that it is a SATA drive. I have tried the AppleACPIPlatform.kext and it still doesn't work. - The battery meter will not show up (but I did use the PowerManagement.bundle, tried both Leo and Tiger versions, still no option for battery, and have even installed the 10.5.4 AppleACPIPlatform.kext). PLEASE HELP! Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143528-ideneb-dvd-drive-and-battery-meter-1056-please-help/ Share on other sites

A320
Finally got it to work, no other kexts needed, but BIOS must be set to run in AHCI mode. If windows was installed in IDE mode before, it will not boot in AHCI mode so you'll either have to switch the bios every time you boot into a different OS, or reinstall Windows in AHCI mode, or follow a set of instructions available online (google it) to switch your existing XP or VIsta installation to AHCI WITHOUT having to reinstall.
