SaneBear
I bought my first netbook, an Eee PC, a few weeks ago. I just bought a Samsung NC10 as a farewell gift for a friend. I'd like to install Mac OS X on the Samsung, but I'm not sure if I'm geek enough to figure it out. First, I'd like to fully understand the ramifications. If I clone my current hard drive (Windows XP), then install Mac OS X, then have problems with Mac OS X, how easy will it be to revert back to Windows XP? If I install Mac OS X, will I invalidate my Samsung warranty? If I install Mac OS X, will my friend have a fully functional mini-Mac? Will she be able to update software, or will she encounter problems if she isn't a geek? Finally, how could I go about hiring someone to help me install Mac OS X on my Samsung here in Seattle? I'm not sure where to look for help. I'm on a tight budget and probably couldn't afford more than $100 - plus whatever I need for extra hardware. I understand the WiFi connection doesn't work unless you install a Dell 1450 wireless card. But I couldn't even find a place to purchase the Dell 1450 card...just one more reason I decided I can't do this without help. Thanks!
