PSPHax0r9
Well, I've got Windows 7 Beta 1 installed on a new partition on my iMac with the boot camp drivers installed and almost every one of them working. The only problem I have is bluetooth. Bluetooth does not work properly no matter how many times I reinstall the drivers, I am not able to use my regular Bluetooth mouse or keyboard. All I could scrounge up was a single USB mouse to use. This leaves me without a keyboard With the driver installed, the computer can recognize my bluetooth devices, however when it tries to connect to them it fails every single time. I was wondering if anyone here would know a possible workaround or would know how to modify the Boot Camp bluetooth driver to work correctly in Windows 7. SticMAC™
I installed it on my Alu MacBook! In the Bootcamp Directory, there are two bluetooth installers, you have to install both! AppleBluetoothInstaller.exe and AppleBluetoothEnablerInstaller.exe in this order, I was then able to use my BT Mouse, I don't use a BT keyboard but I'm sure if the one works the other will, now all I have to do is figure how to get the Multitouch trackpad working!? Chaz_UK
Hmm... Bluetooth was installed from the star for me, only my iSight didn;t work in my 20" iMac. The only problem I have is no sound coming from my speakers on it. I have no ideas why. Other than that I love it! I have the regular 2.0 version. I have tried simply running both those EXEs mentioned above and I have tried using a modified installer that just installs all the drivers regardless of OS, but so far no luck on either. Like I said before, it can recognize the peripherals, but it can't connect to either, it just gives an error. Actually, just to double check, did the Bluetooth work without installing the Boot Camp drivers? And also, which iMac model do you have (i.e. Aluminum, 5.5, etc.)? The speakers I think need the newest Realtek drivers, at least that's what I've read. fcorbier
I've installed Windows 7 Beta 1 on my Aluminium iMac 20" without any problems. The drivers that come with the Leopard DVD work fine minus for the sound. If you're getting installation problems for the Bootcamp drivers, make sure you right-click on the bootcamp EXE installer and set its compatibility mode to "Windows Vista". For the sound, get the latest HD audio codec drivers from the Realtek website. My only issue is that neither the internal mic nor plugging in an external mic work Anyone else ran into that problem? Damn, see I have the 5.5 G iMac (or G5 with iSight), 20". All my drivers install and work fine, including sound, except for this Bluetooth. I just don't know what it is... Also, you say that Bluetooth works but have you tried pairing anything yet? The driver appears to work, but when I try to pair either the keyboard or the mouse, it fails. If anyone can find or make a working solution to this problem, I will think of some kind of incentive/reward. I have the latest 2.4GHz 20" iMac with the Radeon 2400XT. In this post you can see in the 1st screenshot that the bluetooth was detected and installed in Device Manager. This was before I installed the bootcamp drivers. Thanks for the advice on the realtek drivers. I'll give it a try! talben
The only hiccup I've had is getting the isight drivers installed - got audio, bluetooth working... but can't for the LIFE of me get isight drivers installed. I've downloaded the 2.1 bootcamp drivers but humbly apologize for my ignorance in advance here - I can't install them. Click, unzip, nothing happens... Help for a newbie? Thanks. After you unzip them, go into the unzipped folder and double click setup.exe. So did Bluetooth work without installing any Bootcamp drivers for you also? xeraphine
Yeah I'm having the same issue as the OP. Bluetooth is detected, everything APPEARS to work (ie device manager shows it and everything), but when you try to connect, it just doesn't. I've tried the leopard DVD, downloaded drivers, 2.1....but nothing works. I'm on a MacBook by the way. elykkyle
Just curious if you have the x64 or the x86 version installed? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143423-windows-7-beta-1-on-imac/#findComment-1034405 Share on other sites
xeraphine
I'm on x86. And I ended up getting it to work. I went back and re-installed Vista SP1, then got the BT mouse + keyboard working there, then upgraded to the Windows 7 Beta. Now everything works perfectly. Windows 7 is such an improvement over Vista! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143423-windows-7-beta-1-on-imac/#findComment-1034515 Share on other sites

Awesome, that is great to know The only problem is that I do not have a Vista install DVD That's really weird that the drivers work when the OS is upgraded, yet the exact same ones do not work when installed after an upgrade. It just doesn't seem logical. Thanks for your help. PSPHax0r9
Just to reconfirm, I used xeraphine's method and it worked perfectly. It looks like installing Vista and getting it working there before doing a Windows 7 upgrade is the only way to get Bluetooth to work properly.
