Hi!

After a long time, I decided to download the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, I patched it with JMicron and when it is about to finish installing, it freezes, this happens when I install it with 4GB of RAM , then I decided to install it with only 2GB of RAM and it worked like a charm. Now if I try to boot with the 4GB, it just gives me a kernel panic. I installed with default Vanilla Kernel.

My system specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1,86Ghz

4GB Kingston Value RAM 667

Asus P5B Deluxe

Tacens 480w

ATI HD 3850

Seagate 160GB 7200.10

Any advice?

See ya!

Sorry for my bad english, i am spanish :)

It's a driver issue. The machine needs to go 64bit to use 4gb+, and some of the drivers can't handle that. Especially the ones that have been brought over from Tiger, and there are a bunch of those in Kalyway..

Besides, on that board, going past 3gb is pointless, the chipset wastes most of the last GB..
