Er_ras
I am using the Kalyway 10.5.2 Install CD to try and get up and running. I have done a bunch of searching on the forums and the web to get this far and I'm stumped where to go next. Idea's and advice very much appreciated. Settings, configuration and setup below. Edit: It 'seems' to run, but quickly locks up on just about any task. (Even just trying to play chess.) ------------- Biggest helps for I found for getting this far were a Topic here on: 10.5.1 install for the GigaByte DS2/DS3 for Bios settings; And I found one more through Google for a Core i7 for the UD5, which gave me more of the settings for the Install of the software. In trying to use the drivers for the 10.5.1 to get individual components, I get restart messages. (Can get exact if desired.) ------------- I can install and get the system to boot up. (Had to play with Bios - Missed an AHCI option - Willing to write up these settings upon request.) Options on Install are: (These are the only things selected) Kernal: 922-Kabyl Graphics: Nvidia - NVinject 512 Audio Drivers: (Not sure, but took out what I believe doesn't apply.) Intel Nvidia VIA ATI HD Audio COntroller Realtek Sigmatel Conextant AnalogDevices HD Audion Codec (Played with Network:(Suspect I only need the latter, but can't tell a difference.) AppleRTL8169Ethernet RealtekR1000 Mobo CHipsets: AppleOnboardPCATA AppleGenericPCATA Thirds_Applications: kextHelperB7 Patches: Hardcoded_SMBios: AppleSMBios-27-DDR3-1333 Intel Memory Controller Appears to install fine and come up. Obvious problems are A: Inconnstant network; B: No audio; Core I7 System (920) 6GB Ram (3x2GB) nVidia 8800GT 512 card (GX260 Won't fit in current case.) GigaByte EX58-DS4 Realtek 8111D chip Realtek ALC888 codec 250GB SATA HD Sata DVD Burner (Sorry don't remember what right now, if necessary I'll pull it out, and no nothing is plugged in to the Gigabyte SATA ports, just the regular ones.)
