I tried two distros so far

XxX 10.5.5 with both PPF2 and PPF3..

- I couldn't even get to the install, kept restarting every time i tried.. I tried mach_kernal_2, cpus=1, platform = acpi.. etc..

Leo4allv3

- Actually got this one to the install using those commands mentioned earlier, mainly cpus=1 -v..

- I used disk utility to format the partition and everything, tried installing 3 times using various combination of drivers

- But every time I could not boot after the installation, this is the message I got..

Anyways I need help, I completely suck with the terminology being using on this board so please explain them maybe? What other distros should I try? Maybe I could make Leo4allv3 work? Any help/suggestions would be good! Oh, and here are my specs..

MSI P6N Platinum 650i bios version 2.5

E6420 @ 3.00GHZ - Stock is 2.13GHZ, I overclocked it...

2GB DDR2-800 RAM

EVGA 8800GTS 640

200GB SATA HDD

DVD Drive - Samsung SH-S203B (SATA)

Thanks in advance for all your help =D!

You need a modded BIOS......see my Pre-Series 7 nForce chipset + Intel CPU MOBO thread here......especially post #1 for links to BIOS mods and DSDT....... ;)

Alright I got a modded bios, but which one do I use one is .160 file and the other is .ROM O.o? And I'm having trouble understanding a great deal of what's going on... I don't understand what to do with kernal extensions, how to use them, and such.. I keep clicking from post to post and keep getting more confused O.o? How do I apply these patches etc.. should I do it?

Anyways, for the time being after flashing my bios and changing it to a custom one, should I immediately jump to installing? I don't know what DSDT, what to or how to do something with it.. I'm confused mainly about where to make these changes and how.. Do I change the actual isos or what? I have no idea where to go from here..

I currently have:

iATKOS_5i

Leo4allv3

XxX 10.5.5

Kalyway 10.5.2

You need to be 100% sure as to your MOBO model number/BIOS version is before choosing a modded BIOS to flash over your old BIOS (be sure to make a backup copy of your old BIOS).......if you can boot from DVD and install OS X using "-v cpus=1 platform=ACPI|86PC" without quotes then you can try the DSDT patcher approach.......

My understanding is that you download the DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e.zip and run DSDT_Patcher while running your stable Leo4allv3 install with -v cpus=1 platform=ACPI|86PC.....if all goes well you should have a dsdt.aml file produced.

Place this file at the root of your OS X drive, i.e. in / and rename boot file as boot.orig. Then go here to download Chameleon with DSDT overide.

Unzip the files and copy the Chameleon file into the same directory as boot.orig file and rename it to boot. Then reboot the PC with -v and see what happens.......

It should not modify your BIOS BUT I take no responsibility for what happens as this is not my work......

-v cpus=1 platform=ACPI|86PC

Didn't work =\... Still the same problem, says the same thing as the picture does from the first post..

should I just give up on Leo4all and move to iatkos or kalaway...

The distro is not the issue......you need to sort out your BIOS and DSDT issues first.......
