laxmidd50
So im trying to install iDeneb10.5.5 and i get this error ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure. Still waiting for root device ... I have a gateway laptop, ATI Radeon xpress 200M, and AMD Turion 64. There are no bios options that have to do with firewire. Any ideas? (I burned the dvd twice btw and still get this) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142759-error-firewire-unable-to-determine-security-mode/ Share on other sites

lemmy01
Hi, this error has nothing to do with firewire. "Still waiting for root device" is the error. try to select the right kext for your sata/ata controller at install. google for the error and for your laptop model on insanelymac ralf Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142759-error-firewire-unable-to-determine-security-mode/#findComment-1013666 Share on other sites
