Success! P5k-E Wifi/AP 9800GT osx10.5.5

After a long 3 days of trial and error. Reading and searching though this forum and Google. I finally did it!

I seriously though i was wasting my money(almost a grand on this computer) and time when i couldn't get the 9800GT to work.

My Hardware that counts

Asus P5k-e wifi

Intel QX6700 quad core @ 2.66ghz

eVGA 9800GT 512mb

Corsair 4GB Xms 1066 Running at @ 800mhz

Old seagate hd. 320GB sata3 (100GB windows, 180GB osx hd, 20GB osx backup)

Samsung 750GB (FAT32 storage)

I will Post final pictures later and a more descriptive install.

The Install

Installed Kalaway 10.5.2 without any graphics or audio drivers. I checked the vanilla kernal tho.

- Install kext of lan and audio

The popular bike town update patch to 10.5.5

-Post install i deseleced everything besides the 1st vanilla kernal install.

NO BOOT! =[

- Boot in sademode [boot: -x]

IT WORKS!

- Run the nvidia 9000 installer (this dont fix your video card problem but it will let you boot in regular mode. Dont ask me why, it just works!)

Regular Mode.

- Fix your lan cause it aint working. Edit the AppleYukon2.kext.

- Install your video card as a 9800GTX into your boot.plist thing.

and boom! =]

@ stock 2.66ghz

@oc 3.5ghz
