cdisdero
[Also posted by accident (didn't know any better) in Hardware and Drivers forum. Very sorry.] I have the following system configuration: ASUS P5WD2 4GB DDR2-800 RAM EVGA 6600 GT 256 MB PCI-express card 3 - 250 GB SATA DRIVES ( one drive for Windows XP, one for Windows Vista 64bit, and one for OSX hopefully) OSLoader boot manager so I can quickly switch between the OS's PLEXTOR PX-716A DVD drive on the IDE channel PS/2 mouse and keyboard The ASUS P5WD2 has ICH7R chipset, integrated Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN controller, and an integrated Realtek ALC882 sound controller. I've been trying to setup OSX on my system recently. I have tried Kalyway 10.5.2, iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5, Leo4All V3, and iAtkos 5i 10.5.5. The best luck I had was with Kalyway 10.5.2, where using the obvious choices for my system: kernel 9.2 sleep NVInject ALC882_p5w_dh_deluxe skge_marvell AppleGenericPCATA Lastnetkassmbios USBPCGen resulted in an almost perfectly running system except for no QE/CI for my 6600 GT 256 MB graphics card. So the video for 3D applications that I wanted to run was terrible. I investigated how to get it to recognize my 6600 GT but without any luck. Either I'm too stupid or it's not possible. I tried various installers and injectors and all failed with some causing me to be unable to start in anything except safe mode. I tried iDeneb, Leo4All, and most recently iAtkos 5i. iDeneb and Leo4All give me a black screen with two mouse pointers after startup, one of which is frozen in the top left corner of the screen and the system hangs. iAtkos 5i hangs after apparently loading the network card driver according to -v screen. I have on order a cheap 8600 GT 512 MB XTX video card to replace my 6600 GT because it seems that people have less problems with the 8600 GT with 512 MB. I'm hoping that when I pop it in, Kalyway will magically work with it. I'm posting here in hopes someone else who might have the same configuration as I has gotten it to work and can share the secrets with me and hopefully confused others to guide me on the golden path to total OSX nirvana.
