Templeton Peck
netkas' old SMBIOS has been working for me until 10.5.6. I must've tried a dozen or so alternative SMBIOSes as well as SMBIOSEnabler and SMBIOSResolver. They all result in an "About This Mac" crash. I'm currently running the Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel with the 10.5.6 System kext. I can't use a 9.6.0 kernel (since I have a P4, and 9.6.0 hasn't been patched yet), and I can't use the 10.5.5 System kext (because I get "still waiting for root device" when I try). Could the kernel/kext version mismatch be responsible for "About This Mac" crashing? Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of a place where I can find all (or even most) of the SMBIOSes created to date, that would be helpful, as well. Thanks. Templeton Peck
I downloaded an unofficial 10.5.6 kernel (based on Voodoo), so my kernel and system kext are both from 10.5.6. But About This Mac is still crashing. Any ideas? Are there any other AppleSMBIOS kexts that I could try? JP Fulton
I've got the same problem over here after update to 10.5.6... Leo4Allv3 10.5.2 with vanilla kernel then installed PC EFI-v9 and DSDT patch, etc. to get to 10.5.6... Still no solution, eh?
