muffrat
Hi folks... Apologies if anything approaching an answer to this one already appears anywhere (trust me, i have looked!!) if so - do point me in the right direction! I have happily installed xp, running in its own 40gb partition. 70Gb of the rest of the disk it partitioned for OSX. I have tried installing both the Kalyway 10.5.2 and the iAtkos builds of OSX. Both appear to install fine - i am able to erase the partition and format it to MAC OSX journaled format, set my OSX partition as primary from the terminal, customize my install per all the tutorials on installing OSX on the Aspire one - but the same thing happens every time. The Install reaches 100%, but when the system reboots to restart - nothing at all. Just a blank screen with a flashing cursor - not a prompt, just a flat black screen. I am sure that the oprerating system is installing ok, it just will not boot. In order to get things back to normal, i have to reboot from the dvd, open a terminal, and reset my xp partition as the primary partition. The machine will subsequently boot back into XP, but have not been able to get it to boot into OSX at all. My machine is a normal Aspire One A150w, with the wireless card swapped out for a Dell 1390. (this is installed correctly and working in xp) Any ideas? It feels like there must be something simple i have overlooked - any ideas anyone? I freely admit i am a bit of a mac n00b, but am a pretty competent tweaker and am getting more confident with the terminal as experiments progress. This was supposed to be a fun holiday project - all advice gratefully appreciated. Don't let me down at xmas, folks! Regards, and thanx in advance...
