hbanken
Hi everyone, First of all: I'm very new to this stuff, installing OSX on a PC. I'm working on a Acer Travelmate 5515WLMi (5510 series) notebook and I'm trying to get the setup running. Before I put the DVD of iDeneb (1.3) in the drive (IDE dvd-rw) I formatted an primary partition on my SATA disk0 with an gParted-usbstick as FAT32 and HFS+ (I tried both) and set it as active (boot flag). After doing these preparations I started my iDeneb DVD by hitting F12 at startup to select the DVD drive as boot medium. I typed F8 and entered different parameters, with each their own errors: "rd=disk0s3 platform=ACPI maxmem=1700 -x -v": NFS error => panic => BSD thread: kernel_task "maxmem=1700 platform=ACPI -x -v -s": Still waiting on root device "maxmem=1700 platform=ACPI -x -v": Worked once, but I formatted drive again to change customized options, cause it wasn't booting well, but never worked again. All other tries also got still waiting... error. and others which I don't remember I kept trying the one which worked once but it didn't worked again and now I hope someone has an idea for me. I'm missing a lot of BIOS options, like editing master/slave, however I'm able to change the boot device order. Hopefully someone has an anwser for me. PS: I'm Dutch, so that's why my Englisch is not perfect. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142390-how-to-start-setup-ideneb-13/ Share on other sites
