still waiting for the root drive

Hi

 

I got my iatkosv 4.1 working few days back by using my sata 250 gb in an usb enclosure and an ide DVD drive.

Now i am trying to connect my hard disk directly to the mobo through a sata cable,but i am getting the error

"still waiting fro the root device" .

 

i have an intel DG35EC with q6600.

 

Reason i want to do this is coz my mac osx is not running that smooth,is it possible tht connectin a sata disk using USB enclosure may be causing this problem?

 

Please help me get rid of this error,i am new to this mac osx scene,so kindly explain these things as simply as you can.
