Guest
I have tried installing and unfortunately i failed, however recently i read a post - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=56684 Which explains how someone managed to install Uphuck 1.3 (10.4.9) onto their computer (which is the same as mine except i have an 80GB HD and only 512 Ram, as mentioned in signature) Firstly, i have tried many different ISO's such as JaS (10.4.8) and other Kalyway versions, however none work, each giving me some sort of variable error which i have mentioned in other topics. The person in the topic who managed to install Uphuck 1.3 doesn't seem to visit InsanelyMac much and so i question how the person may have accomplished this. Secondly, i have also heard that Uphuck has Leopard versions, would any of these (possibly which one) work on my Laptop without creating errors that i had previously. (Gray Apple Screen, Unfinished Installation, Incorrect Drivers, Windows Failing to Load, Windows froze at loading screen with blue throbber after Mac installation) Thanks For any Help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142316-how-install-leopard-on-sony-vaio-vgn-fs/ Share on other sites
ameris_cyning
Might I suggest trying iDeneb? I, too, had issues with Kalway and Leo4All. They all disappointed me with their inability to install OS X on my machine. Does the installation at least complete for one distro? Guest
Yep, some do complete installation however when i restart, i receive problems as mentioned. I can't specifically remember which one did complete the install however i remember completing one and getting the Gray Apple Screen problem on restart.. some didn't, such as Kalyway, which i think didn't finish installation or possibly didn't even start due to problems. Btw, what's iDeneb.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142316-how-install-leopard-on-sony-vaio-vgn-fs/#findComment-1009696 Share on other sites
ameris_cyning
iDeneb is another release. You can find it on various sites, like a certain "bay" out there. Arr! If you still have an installation set up, can you attempt to boot into Mac OS X with using the commands "-v" at the Darwin prompt? (Use without the quotes) Take a pic of the output, please, and upload it to this thread. Guest
Unfortunately i don't have my Mac installation still there, since after an installation my Windows stopped working, i had to erase everything and lost loads of files, and then restore Windows (reinstall), ever since then i haven't tried again until i finally heard a success story (if i ever did) on this type of laptop. I used to have some screenshots however i think i removed them a while ago, i did try using the -v command previously however i cannot remember the results i received.. So i am still quite worried since i do not want my Win XP to stop working.. for whatever reason it did stop working (i am still unsure however apparently it was not the installation that done it) so yup, twas all removed and i restarted, now with a good lil XP running nicely. I'll check out iDeneb though. Or possibly check out some versions that Uphuck created, what do you suggest? Uptown_J
I have a Vaio FS980 and I used iDeneb to get it somewhat up and running. Use kernel 9.4 and get the 2200bg driver from the google development site. I am going to try it again this weekend.
