gazzr
Hello there, I've recently acquired a new PC to replace two old ones. I have a HP ML110 Server, spec is below... System Manufacturer - HP System Model - ProLiant ML110 G5 Processor - Intel® Xeon® CPU 3065 @ 2.33GHz, 2333 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) Network - Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet BIOS Version/Date - HP O15, 03/04/2008 SMBIOS - Version 2.5 Total Physical Memory - 2,045.56 MB (2x 1gb) Graphics Card - Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT PCIe 16x (running in an 8x slot) Motherboard Chipset - Intel S3200/S3210 I have very limited experience in installing OSX86 on an old HP Pentium 4 Desktop, i didnt have to modify any install DVD's, i simply kept downloading them until one worked. (Kalyway 10.5.2 in the end) I tried using that same DVD on this box and got a kernel panic. I would ideally like to download a version that will just work, id rather not have to modify / add / remove any kexts. I'll need some instructions on how to do that if i need to. Based on the information here, can anyone recommend a version to try? I've uploaded some screenshots from CPUZ for additional information. Thanks in advance for any help - and merry Christmas if you're celebrating! EDIT - I did do a brief forum search for any previous info, but only managed to find information relating to a G1 / G2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142250-hp-ml110-g5-machine-spec-version-recommendation/ Share on other sites

nonswimmer
Does it work now? Do you know, if it is possible to run OpenSolaris 2008.11 at the ML110 G5? Maybe can you check it with the LiveCD from OpenSolaris? http://www.opensolaris.com/get/index.jsp Thanks for your help. nonswimmer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142250-hp-ml110-g5-machine-spec-version-recommendation/#findComment-1027448 Share on other sites

gazzr
So... i gave up with Kalyway... i've now got hold of iPC 10.5.6 which doesn't appear to kernel panic. I get as far as the installation section, but it can't find my SATA hard disks. Can someone explain to me in very simple terms what i need to do to get it to see the drives? Its an onboard Adaptec SATA RAID controller.
