amw_drizz
Okay is the eVGA 750i SLi Chipset / Mobo pretty much the same as the newer 780i? Cause I just built a system specs below eVGA 750i Sli Intel Chip Set BFG nVidia 9800 GTX Sli Cards (2) 8 Gigs of DDR2 1066 Ram Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale Oc'ed to 3.6 from 3.0 Cause at this page http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.2#eVGA It don't List the 750i Chipset just the 780i or 680i. And it says that the 780i has SATA issues and Network Issues. What would be some of my options that I would have to do to get it fullyworking, As I am thinking of resizing my 640 gig sata drive to accomidate win xp x64bit pro and mac os x 10.5.2 thanks for the help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142171-mobo-question/ Share on other sites

TheWiiGuy
I have an ASUS p5n-t deluxe 780i mobo and indeed have some issues with SATA though there is now a fairly stable(for me at least, still in alpha) driver for ethernet. rest assured, many peeps have gotten 750i based boards to work. search the forums as they are your best friend. mind you, there are no guarantees with nForce boards in general. they just don't seem to work very well at all. Good choice of graphics though, 2 x 9800GTX are very easy to get running 100%(i haz 2 too) and nice OC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142171-mobo-question/#findComment-1015593 Share on other sites
amw_drizz
Okay Slight Issue I dont have any IDE DVD Drives so I can't Verify but I restarted my computer, put in the kalaway 10.5.2 disk and it starts loading, It finds and resets all of my SATA drives I guess for mounting then I get a Still Waiting for root device. And I waited for about a 1/2hr and still does not load. I yank my one IDE HDD off the system and try again, same issue. This time I tried -v cpus=1. still wont load. Go in to BIOS and disable the 2nd core and still refuses to get past that point. I am thinking that I am screwed to a point since all of my optical drives (2) are SATA based and not IDE. So anyway I can get the installer to load? or am I going to have to make a custom installer img to get it working? Cause If I have to make a custom installer img then I need to reinstall Mac OS X on my laptop inorder to use that to recreate a new dmg file with updated nvidia 750i sata kext files. amw_drizz
Okay Success, I got my hands on a IDE DVD Drive, and after multiple times installing it, I found that I HAVE to disable the SATA Controller or it wont boot, and I HAVE TO set maxmem=3027 during the install or it hangs @ 4 mins or so. (my guess just about when 3-4 gigs have been transferred). I didn't have to yank my 2nd GPU as some posts stated that I would have to. Right now I am trying to get network working, along with the combo 10.5.5 update. amw_drizz
@verdant I eventually found that topic after finding Mysticus C* and saw that he discontinued all nForce work then I found yours. It took me 2 days to track down all the links, since I was going off of his post originally and found that he pulled the drivers along with the pre * post 10.5.5 patches from his site. Now I am just trying to get dual nvidia 9800 gtx working as I have to have one pulled from the system. My other option (as I don't really need 4 monitors 1 is enough for now) find out how to disable the 2nd card in mac os x so I dont have to remove it every time I want to use Mac OS X. And the last note. My system hangs after some idle time I dont know why, along with the upgrade to 10.5.5 I went from a 3.6ghz Unknown CPU to 1.5ghz Unkown and 8 gig 677mghz DIMM to 8 Gig Unknown. But my 1 gfx card is now in full support of QE/CI and free to change res.
